About Library

In higher education the library has its own importance. It helps in widening the range of knowledge and information of teachers and students. The Library of Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj Arts College, Borgaon (Manju) Established on 21 June 1993 the year. Since then library has made consistent progress in the terms of collection of book, periodicals, services and infrastructure provided.

Our library is a storehouse of knowledge, where various sources of information are available for the student and the teacher. To enhance the quality and knowledge for the overall development of the student the library continuously works hard through various ways. It is a center of academic activities, enriched with reference books, journals, newspaper, bound volumes, CD-ROM, and computer assisted knowledge gaining source like internet etc. We allow open access to the collection and encourage student to overall development of the college in accordance with the principal set by our parent institution “Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj Education Society”.

Objectives

  • 1. To Provide Books, journals, periodicals and magazines in understanding different subjects and disciplines students chose.
  • 2. To provide a forum for discussing library and information needs and expectations of the faculty and the students.
  • 3. To ensure a balanced growth of the library in line with the overall development of the College and to represent the interests of the Library in various decision-making groups.
  • 4. To provide an opportunity to faculty and students to raise and discuss initiatives towards the growth of library and information services and the functioning of library.
  • 5. To inspire and encourage regular student.
  • 6. To achieve social commitment as a center of higher education.
  • 7. Students gets chance to get employment for using library.
  • 8. Helping eliminate unemployment.
  • 9. Inculcate reading culture on every user of the library.
  • 10. Conservation and preservation of knowledge;
  • 11. Expansion of ideas and dissemination of knowledge with the help of interpretation, research and publication; and Dissemination of knowledge through teaching and extension service

Circulation

  • 1. Students: 2 Books 7 days in a week.
  • 2. Faculty members: 05 Books per Semester.
  • 3. Non-teaching staff: 1 Books for 15 Days.
  • 4. Other readers: 1 Books for 7 days.

Membership

Shri sant Gajanan Maharaj kala Mahavidyalaya Library offers membership to Professors, and Students enrolled in the current Academic year. Ex Students / Others can avail the reference facility by permission from Principal / Librarian?

Timings

The library remains open from 8.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. On all working days except Sunday and Public Holidays.
